You have been asked to participate in a research project entitled Romantic Relationship Processes. The purpose of this study is to help the UCSB Close Relationships Consortium understand how their brochure is evaluated by students. Your participation will involve completing the online questionnaires you are about to complete and 1 laboratory session in which you will read a brochure about relationships at UCSB and answer questions about the brochure and your relationship.
The online questionnaires you are about to complete are designed to assess a number of background and relationship characteristics. Your participation in this study will provide invaluable information that will help us understand romantic relationships. To thank you for your time, you will receive 1 experimental credit in your Psychology 1 or Psychology 7 course.
Please be aware of the following:
• This research has been approved by the UCSB Human Subjects Committee
• If you decide not to participate in this study, your refusal will involve no penalty and no loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
• Participation in this study is voluntary, and you may terminate your participation at any time.
• While answering questions, you may refuse to respond to any questions without penalty.
• Your questionnaire will be identified by a random code number so that your responses are completely anonymous and will not be identified with you as an individual
• Data from this project will be used for research purposes only, and will be viewed only by research staff
